Smalltalk Architect
For our client, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of components for the automotive industry, we are looking for a Smalltalk Architect in Germany, Frankfurt am Main.
Within the automotive industry, it is one of the leading global manufacturers of exterior rearview mirrors, wiring harnesses and polymer modules and has a diversified industry-leading portfolio of auto ancillary products and services that make it a full system solutions provider for its customers across the globe.
Must have: German language (at least B2)
Services Required
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Technical Architecture & Development:
- Implementation of technical components in Smalltalk applications.
- Design and implementation of technical components in Smalltalk technologies, including performance optimizations.
- Creation of detailed IT design descriptions for the implementation of complex requirements.
- Programming, implementation, and customizing of technical components in applications, including associated interfaces, modules, and databases, in compliance with the client's standards.
- Technical support in the implementation of architectural decisions and technical requirements.
- Conducting code reviews and implementing corrections from test phases.
- Documentation & Testing:
- Documentation and archiving of the business process related to the electronic timetable.
- Creating system documentation and delivery packages for relevant applications.
- Execution of unit tests, component tests, module tests, and module group tests.
- Consulting & Coordination:
- Analyzing technical requirements of IT systems and developing technical implementation options.
- Coordination and documentation of non-functional requirements.
- Consulting with the client on technical implementation options.
- Reporting risks and problems to the technical architects and project management.
- System Integration:
- Connection of upstream systems, such as GFD-Z (common timetable data trains) in the timetable IT environment.
- Retrieval of timetable information on the on-board device.
- Display of the electronic timetable with speed restriction sections on a driver’s display.
The bidder must meet the following mandatory technical requirements:
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of practical experience in object-oriented analysis and design (OOA and OOD).
- 5 years of proven experience in implementing technical solutions in projects with over 15 employees.
- 3 years of professional knowledge in timetable IT systems.
- 4 years of practical experience with Windows dialogs and TestMentor (automation of GUI tests) in Smalltalk Visual.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Smalltalk Visual programming language.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL Developer, and Linux shell scripting.
- Proven experience with agile methodologies like SCRUM, SaFe, etc.
- Experience with Docker, AWS, and GIT Lab pipeline construction.
- Certifications:
- Certified architect in more than one architecture topic according to iSAQB or a comparable qualification.
- “UML Intermediate” or “UML Foundation” certification.
- Proof of certification or 5 years of practical experience in the last 10 years, documented in the CV.
- Project References:
- At least 1 project reference with a period of deployment of 3 years, or two project references with at least 1.5 years of deployment.
- Two project references in technical architecture in complex IT systems.
The following target requirements will be considered in the technical and specialist evaluation:
- Methodological Knowledge:
- Proven methodological knowledge and experience in their application, such as SCRUM, SaFe, etc.
- Experience:
- 4 years of experience in Docker, AWS, and GIT Lab pipeline construction.
- 2 project references in the CV related to technical architecture in complex IT systems.
- Certifications:
- Certified architect in multiple architecture topics according to iSAQB or comparable qualifications.
