Employee Relations Consultant (m/w/d)

We are currently seeking an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join our client team, a global leader in its industry, supporting countries across the Central Europe region, with a primary focus on Germany and Switzerland. This role involves managing complex employment matters, providing expert guidance on employee relations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees in alignment with the company’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert ER support for Germany and Switzerland, including consultation on disciplinary actions and involuntary terminations.
- Advise managers and HR partners on performance management and reorganizations from an ER perspective.
- Assess and investigate employee grievances or complaints, and conduct thorough investigations.
- Coach managers and employees on sensitive issues, such as return-to-work situations and well-being topics.
- Collaborate with legal teams, HRBPs, and other departments to ensure compliance with employment laws and policies.
- Partner with Labor Relations Consultants to manage Works Council-related processes in Germany.
- Lead ER-related projects regionally and internationally, ensuring adherence to case management and reporting standards.
- Provide support for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and separation planning.
Requirements:
- Expertise in German employment law and familiarity with employment laws in Switzerland
- Proven experience in Employee Relations within a fast-paced environment, including handling performance management, investigations, and reorganizations.
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to manage conflict and mediate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous situations, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of Works Council processes and experience collaborating with legal teams.
- Resilient, ethical, and detail-oriented, with excellent case management and tracking skills.
