Software Engineer (Java, Angular)
Our client is looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the development and transformation of cutting-edge technology solutions, following the company’s architectural practices. You will use modern tools and agile methodologies to deliver continuous business value, ensuring top-tier quality, availability, and adaptability in all solutions. And, of course, you’ll have fun while working with an innovative team! This is a one year assignment with a chance of extension
Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on delivering critical digital functions for the comapany manufacturing operations across all global plants. Your work will involve analyzing business requirements, designing solution proposals, and developing, testing, and deploying these solutions for various stakeholders.
The applications you build will be used across all production plants, which means that robustness, scalability, and efficiency are key. The client is committed to using modern technologies, and you will help adopt and implement the best solutions available. With a focus on "always-on" operations, you will support different departments in the plants by designing, configuring, and managing solutions for devices, tools, and applications—always in line with corporate and factory standards. Additionally, you will work closely with local IT teams and receive support from global specialists.
Profile
You are a Java Software Engineer with over five years of experience. Your expertise covers full-stack development, including front-end technologies (preferably Angular), Spring, REST APIs, databases, cloud services, and messaging systems such as IBM MQ and Kafka.
You also have excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, and can interact effectively with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Docker containers and orchestration tools like OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with the manufacturing and automotive industries.
- Experience with .NET for maintaining some legacy applications before they are migrated to Java.
- Knowledge of Windows Service Applications and Linux.
Other Requirements
- You’ll be required to work in the office three days a week.
- Occasional travel to other sites may be needed, but it will likely be limited to twice a year.
Team Setup
The company is global, with members located in offices across the world. For this role you are a part of a team of four, including a Product Manager. Other locations include Skövde, Gent, and Kraków.
