Public Policy Specialist (m/w/d)
About the Role
Our client, a leading global platform in the travel and tourism space, is seeking a Public Policy Associate to support its public policy and compliance efforts across the DACH and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) regions — with a strong focus on German-speaking markets.
This is a dynamic opportunity to join a cross-functional campaign team working at the intersection of technology, regulation, and sustainable tourism. You’ll work closely with public policy managers, legal experts, product teams, and community engagement professionals, contributing to the development and implementation of impactful policy initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Provide policy advice to internal teams to guide compliance product and content development
Lead the operational execution of national and local policy and legislative measures
Project-manage compliance programs across DACH & CEE, working closely with another Public Policy Associate and broader internal stakeholders
Represent the client in meetings with government officials, political stakeholders, and advocacy coalitions
Manage external consultants to ensure consistent and aligned policy engagement
Quickly assess risk and help prioritize product launches with regulatory considerations in mind
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 5 years of project management experience in public policy, compliance, regulatory affairs, or government relations
Experience working in sectors like travel, urban planning, or technology is highly desirable
Proven ability to build and manage relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and presentation
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited supervision
Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail, especially when dealing with complex regulatory issues
Fluent in German and English (applications must be submitted in English)
Additional Information
You will report to the Senior Public Policy Manager for DACH/CEE and collaborate closely with other associates and managers in the team
Occasional travel across Central & Eastern Europe
