Finance Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client's team and to lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise Finance Technology initiatives across SAP and related finance systems. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in complex, global environments and brings deep expertise in SAP Finance, governance, and compliance-driven delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle delivery of Finance Technology initiatives across SAP and adjacent finance systems from intake and planning through deployment and stabilization
Partner closely with Finance process owners, Finance Technology solution leads, ERP teams, Enterprise Services, and external vendors to ensure clear scope, accountability, and measurable outcomes
Develop and manage integrated project plans spanning business process design, system configuration, integrations, testing, data migration, and cutover activities
Embed compliance-by-design principles across all phases of delivery, ensuring alignment with SOX, audit, and internal control requirements
Coordinate cross-functional dependencies across SAP Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany) and related applications such as BlackLine, Kyriba, tax solutions, and procurement tools
Drive disciplined project governance including executive-ready reporting, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, and decision escalation
Facilitate steering committees, design reviews, readiness checkpoints, and key stakeholder forums
Oversee system integrators and vendor partners to ensure delivery against scope, timelines, quality standards, and contractual commitments
Partner with Finance and Technology stakeholders to drive change management, communications, training coordination, and adoption planning
Ensure smooth transition from project delivery to operational support, with clear handoffs to run and support teams
Required Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive experience delivering enterprise Finance Technology initiatives, ideally within global or multi-region environments
Strong project management experience leading complex SAP Finance programs
Solid understanding of SAP Finance and its role in core finance processes, including Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Order-to-Cash (O2C)
Proven experience delivering projects involving SOX-relevant systems, internal controls, testing cycles, and audit interactions
Demonstrated ability to translate Finance business requirements into structured execution plans and delivery roadmaps
Experience managing complex system integrations and data dependencies across SAP and non-SAP platforms
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally across Finance, IT, and third-party partners
Experience operating within a PMO framework while applying appropriate rigor based on project size and risk
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, risk awareness, and accountability
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
Formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Hybrid PM) preferred
SOX, audit, or financial controls training or hands-on experience strongly preferred
