In this role, you will become part of a dedicated team responsible for the digitisation of historical documents, helping to preserve valuable archival records and make them accessible online. Your work will play a direct role in ensuring that historical information is safeguarded and available for future generations.

Location: Friesack (Germany)

Working hours: 35-40 hours per week

Employment duration: Fixed-term contract of 4 to 6 months

Your responsibilities:

• Digitisation of historical documents in accordance with established standards.

• Quality control of digital copies regarding completeness, readability, and technical accuracy.

• Preparation of documents for the digitisation process (e.g. review, sorting, basic preservation-related handling).

• Collaboration with team members in the digitisation project.

• Documentation of digitisation workflows and results.

Your profile:

• Willingness to learn digitisation techniques.

• Independent and careful working style.

• Team player with initiative.

• Careful handling of historical documents.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of historical manuscripts is an advantage.

• Experience working with historical documents is desirable.

• Good written and spoken German skills.

• English language skills are an advantage.
