Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer
Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer (Hands-on)
Location: Warsaw, Poland (hybrid working model)
Contract duration: 16 November 2026 – 30 June 2027
Working hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to join one of our clients and support cloud migration, data platform development, and cross-team technical initiatives.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who combines strong AWS expertise with practical DevOps, automation, and software development skills. You will work closely with a Senior Application Architect and multiple engineering teams to turn complex or unclear requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions.
You will take ownership of initiatives from initial discovery and technical design through implementation, stabilization, documentation, and handover to the teams responsible for ongoing operations. The role requires independent decision-making, adaptability, and the ability to balance architectural considerations with hands-on delivery.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement AWS cloud solutions, including infrastructure, integrations, automation, and application code.
Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and version-controlled deployment practices.
Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and overall engineering efficiency.
Identify opportunities to improve cloud platforms, developer workflows, reliability, security, and operational processes.
Evaluate technical alternatives and make pragmatic decisions balancing cost, security, scalability, complexity, and maintainability.
Develop scripts, integrations, and automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project stakeholders, and business teams across several initiatives.
Conduct technical reviews, challenge assumptions constructively, and support teams in making informed engineering decisions.
Use approved AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality while ensuring outputs are verified and sensitive information is protected.
Document solutions, share knowledge, and ensure successful handover to the teams responsible for long-term ownership.
Requirements
Extensive, recent hands-on experience delivering solutions in AWS production environments.
Several years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or a similar technical role.
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, version control, CI/CD, automated testing, and safe deployment practices.
Practical experience with scripting, automation, integrations, and application development, including the ability to review application code.
Experience designing and implementing solutions beyond infrastructure provisioning alone.
Proven ability to take initiatives from an ambiguous initial stage through implementation, stabilization, and handover.
Strong technical judgment and the ability to assess trade-offs between security, reliability, cost, complexity, and delivery speed.
Experience working independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams and projects.
Familiarity with current AI-assisted development tools and the ability to apply them responsibly.
Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to challenge and discuss technical decisions constructively.
Nice to have
Experience migrating workloads and platforms from Azure to AWS.
Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and data engineering technologies such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and Azure Synapse.
Experience building reusable cloud platforms and developer self-service capabilities.
Familiarity with enterprise security, governance, and compliance requirements.
Experience in consulting or other cross-team engineering environments.
What the role offers
The opportunity to work on impactful cloud migration and data platform initiatives.
A hands-on technical position combining architecture, engineering, and automation.
Collaboration with experienced architects and engineering teams.
Ownership of technical solutions from initial design through implementation and knowledge transfer.
Exposure to diverse technical challenges and opportunities to shape cloud engineering practices.
