Software Engineer
Project Description:
A leading automotive technology company has chosen Wind River Cloud Studio as its development platform for its Active Safety and User Experience Automotive Products. Global Software Services will act as the service management partner for Wind River Studio, providing service delivery for cloud-native product engineering tools to over 5000 software engineers located in Europe and the US.
Project Timeline:
This is a long-term initiative, expected to span over five years, emphasizing a strategic partnership and leveraging advanced technological platforms for enhanced product development and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Provide Level 1 to Level 3 incident management and problem-solving support for software tools throughout the full development lifecycle of autonomous driving solutions for leading car manufacturers worldwide. This includes working in shifts and the possibility to work remotely.
- Drive continuous improvement in IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and tooling to meet or exceed best-in-industry standards for IT service delivery.
- Automate user and application lifecycle maintenance tasks by adopting Site Reliability Engineering best practices.
- Report on ITSM Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for service quality, user onboarding, and adherence to development processes.
- Collaborate closely with the Architecture team to design and implement continuous service enhancements to meet or exceed target OKRs.
- Create and maintain a knowledge repository of runbooks, support guides, etc., to provide proactive support to Wind River users.
- Contribute to the setup and monitoring of Cloud, Financial Operations (FinOps), & Security monitoring tools, including Datadog and AWS Cloud Health.
- Deliver training, coaching, and guidance on engineering tools to enhance team competencies and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development or IT Service Management (ITSM) roles is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in supporting two or more of the following technologies: GIT, GERRIT, Jira, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Artifactory, Polarion, Doors, Datadog.
- Profound knowledge of ITSM processes, for example, ITIL frameworks.
- Extensive expertise in IT automation technologies including Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure, particularly AWS, is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience in developing automated configuration management processes and procedures, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Highly energetic team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity or experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or XP is mandatory.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
