Field Sales Account Executive

Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Field Sales Account Executive to join the dynamic team of our client. This role involves prospecting and developing new opportunities to expand market reach and increase sales. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic account plans, achieve sales goals, and maintain excellent customer relationships within the assigned sales territory, market segment, or channel partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and contact prospective customers to develop opportunities for business growth on behalf of the client.
- Develop and execute account plans for top prospects and conduct face-to-face sales calls as agreed.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships to effectively identify their needs, business model, and buying process.
- Understand customer needs and priorities to effectively offer solutions tailored by the client.
- Gain customer agreement on the differential advantage of solutions provided by the client by leveraging existing data and presenting a strong value proposition.
- Handle negotiations in line with the client's guidelines, including payment terms, and assist with accounts receivable collections when necessary.
- Drive sales to achieve targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships to generate future sales and repeat business for the client.
- Respond promptly to customer concerns on behalf of the client.
- Consistently utilize sales processes, tools, and initiatives that support sales and customer value as directed by the client.
- Report activities and maintain records through the Customer Relationship Management tool as directed by management.
- Produce sales forecasts as required by the client.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide proactive support to customers in both the original equipment and independent aftermarket sectors as directed by the client.
- Develop and conduct sales training at customer sites on behalf of the client.
- Visit customers 2-3 days a week to seek out business opportunities and generate a healthy sales pipeline for the client.
- Occasionally prepare for and attend trade shows and industry events on behalf of the client.
- Support or lead sales-oriented projects and initiatives as assigned by the client.
Qualifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or relevant sales experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Experience in B2B sales of technical products, ideally in the automotive or mechanical engineering industry.
- Technical education in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or similar is a plus.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and filter systems.
- Familiarity with the German market of heavy-duty vehicles and filter technologies.
- Understanding of Independent Aftermarket and OEM landscape in On- & Off-Highway market segments.
- Existing network in the industry is an advantage.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong relationship management skills.
